Diamonds, Sparklers, and Elvis

Homeschool Highlights

This month, we…

  • FINISHED kindergarten and second grade!
  • went to the homeschool day at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens
  • had an excited birthday boy turn 8!
  • ate crab for said birthday.
  • went to the water park for an end-of-school celebration!
  • met homeschool friends at Hot Springs, AR: camping for 5 days!
  • toured historic bath houses and became junior rangers at Hot Springs National Park.
  • wrote Chinese characters.
  • rode the new Justice League ride at Six Flags.
  • made snow cones.
  • lit up the night with sparklers.
  • visited Jekyll Island, GA on the coast and went swimming in the ocean!
  • cycled a surrey (a six-person bike — or for us, a 4-person-plus-dog!)
  • went to the library with friends
  • made the Great Wall of China out of rice krispies.
  • dug for diamonds and other rocks at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas.
  • took a small stop in Memphis to see the huge Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid, stroll along the Mississippi, and (of course!) get our picture taken with Elvis!
