Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year: A Review

.

Dear Homeschooler,

Although the 2018 – 2019 school year has barely ended, and I am thoroughly enjoying the sun and laughter of my children by the pool, my mind can’t help to think — be it in brief stints — of the upcoming school year. I am a planner. That is why I was excited for the opportunity to review The Old Schoolhouse®‘s Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner for 2019/20 Year. This planner is different from many others because it was created especially for the homeschooling mom: it provides many features to help stay organized as well as encouragement through Godly devotionals written by Gena Suarez.

The Product: Hey, Mama!Homeschool PlannerHey, Mama

The Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner is much more that just a calendar:

Creating an Academic Transcript

Briefly answers the question of what an academic transcript is, why you should keep one for you high schooler, and tips on how to do it.

Academic Transcript

A document that you can fill out, showing credits earned for each freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years.

Checklist and Skills Learned & Other Courses

A document listing courses and skills studied each month.

Yearly Calendars (2019-2021)

The entire year’s calendar is laid out on one page for optimal viewing. There is one calendar for each 2019, 2020, and 2021 years. I used my 2019 and 2019 calendar pages to count school days (my state requires 190 days) and mark holidays and other days off.

Hey, Mama

Monthly Calendars with Notes and Hey, Mama! Devotionals

Each month has its own two-page spread, where you can mark whatever you have going on, including appointments, classes, sport events, and extra curriculars.  Each month also has a full page where you can write specific notes for that month. I will use mine to set monthly curriculum goals and other monthly targets. I used ‘July 2019 Notes’ to plan some summer activities.

Which tools do you use to plan your school year? Have you tried Hey, Mama! Homeschool Planner previously? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. If not, perhaps give it a try. You’ll be organized and encouraged all year long. I’ll leave you with these words from Gena:

You work hard. You’re committed to your family. Homeschooling, for you, is a way of life, or it’s something you are seriously considering for the future. This planner is designed to bring you encouragement, simple organizations, and a few devotions to strengthen your resolve along the way. It is my deep prayer that you will be blessed as you follow the Lord in His calling for you as … The Mama.

Till Next Time,

Jennifer
